Palmer 2024 En Primeur price at £159.00 is truly awful. It is 25% more expensive than 2021, 12% more expensive than 2020, 8% more expensive than 2019 and 17% more expensive than 2017. All vintages are better rated than 2024, some much better rated.

Some leeway is acceptable for comparisons with the 2021 vintage (although 25% more expensive is insane). Clearly a massive overhang of all 2021 wines is sloshing about in the market now. However, there is no excuse for setting a price above 2020, 2019 and 2017. Looking further back, 2014 and 2008 are also marginally cheaper. This En Primeur offer is total nonsense.
